1—Short title
These regulations may be cited as the Children's Services (Baby Sitting Agencies) Regulations 2001.
2—Commencement
These regulations will come into operation on 1 September 2001.
3—Revocation
The Children's Services Act (Baby Sitting Agencies) Regulations 1985 (see Gazette 12.9.1985 p805) are revoked.
4—Interpretation
In these regulations unless the contrary intention appears—
Act means the Children's Services Act 1985.
5—Licences (section 30)
An application for a licence or renewal of a licence to carry on the business of a baby sitting agency must be in the form set out in form 1 of the Schedule.
An application for renewal of a licence must be lodged with the Director at least 14 days before the expiry of the licence.
On receipt of an application for a licence or renewal of a licence, the Director may, for the purposes of section 30 of the Act, issue a licence in the form set out in form 2 of the Schedule.
6—Prescribed records (section 32)
For the purposes of section 32 of the Act, the following are prescribed records to be maintained by a licensed baby sitting agency in relation to each person employed or introduced in the course of its business as a baby sitting agency:
(a)the person's name, address and telephone number (if any);
(b)names and addresses of referees who have provided information about the person's character and competence;
(c)details of the person's relevant training and qualifications;
(d)in respect of each baby sitting assignment undertaken by the person, the date of the assignment and the name and address of the person for whom the assignment was undertaken.

The Children's Services (Baby Sitting Agencies) Regulations 2001 were revoked by r 6 of the Regulation (Education and Early Childhood Services) Variation and Revocation Regulations 2011 on 1.1.2012.
