Children’s Services Amendment Act 2000

An Act to amend the Children’s Services Act 1986

[Notified in ACT Gazette No. 14:  6 April  2000]

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1. Name of Act

   This Act is the Children’s Services Amendment Act 2000.

2. Commencement

   This Act commences on the day it is notified in the Gazette.

3. Act amended

   This Act amends the Children’s Services Act 1986.1

4. Age of criminal responsibility

   Section 27 is amended by omitting from subsections (1) and (2) “8” and substituting “10”.

5. Power to apprehend under-age children

   Section 28 is amended by omitting from subsection (1) “8” and substituting “10”.

6. Application to be served on parents

   Section 79 is amended by omitting from paragraph (1) (b) “8” and substituting “10”.

7. Service of applications for review

   Section 90 is amended by omitting from paragraph (c) “8” and substituting “10”.
