His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Children (Interstate Transfer of Offenders) Act 1988.

1Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Children (Interstate Transfer of Offenders) Regulation 2000.

2Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 March 2000.

3Definition(1)

In this Regulation:

the Act means the Children (Interstate Transfer of Offenders) Act 1988.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

4Legislation of other States and Territories

For the purposes of section 4 (2) of the Act, the following States and Territories are declared to have enacted legislation dealing with the interstate transfer of young offenders:

  • Australian Capital Territory

  • Northern Territory

  • Queensland

  • South Australia

  • Tasmania

  • Victoria

5Repeal

The Children (Interstate Transfer of Offenders) Regulation 1995 is repealed.
