HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Children (Interstate Transfer of Offenders) Act 1988, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Citation
1. This Regulation may be cited as the Children (Interstate
Transfer of Offenders) Regulation 1989.
Commencement
2. This Regulation takes effect on 30th June 1990.
Definition
3. In this Regulation:
"the Act" means the Children (Interstate Transfer of
Offenders) Act 1988.

4. For the purposes of section 4(2) of the Act, the States which are declared to have enacted legislation dealing with the interstate transfer of young offenders are set out in Schedule 1.

SCHEDULE 1 - LEGISLATION OF OTHER STATES
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to declare other States which have enacted
legislation dealing with the interstate transfer of young offenders. This will enable
the Minister for Family and Community Services to enter into agreements with those
States relating to the transfer of young offenders.
