I, the Minister for Juvenile Justice, in pursuance of section 5 of the Children
(Detention Centres) Act 1987, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The Minister for Juvenile Justice may, by order published in the Gazette under section 5 of the Children (Detention Centres) Act 1987, declare any premises specified or described in the order to be a detention centre for the purposes of that Act. The Minister may also give a name to the detention centre by order.
The detention centre named “Keelong Juvenile Justice Centre” located at Staff Road, Unanderra is to be closed down. The object of this Order is to remove “Keelong Juvenile Justice Centre” from the list of declared detention centres by repealing the Children (Detention Centres) Order 2005 and replacing it with this Order.
This Order is made under section 5 of the Children (Detention Centres) Act 1987.

1 Name of Order
This Order is the Children (Detention Centres) Order 2010.
2 Declaration and naming of premises to be detention centres
Each of the premises specified in Schedule 1 is declared to be a detention centre for the purposes of the Children (Detention Centres) Act 1987, and each such detention centre is given the name specified in the Schedule in respect of those premises.
3 Repeal
The Children (Detention Centres) Order 2005 is repealed.
