Act 1998 No 158—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Children and Young Persons Legislation (Repeal and Amendment) Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 17 April 2000 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) sections 1, 2 and 4, and

(b) Schedule 1 [5].

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence an amendment to the Children’s Court Act 1987 providing that on the appointment of a Senior Children’s Magistrate, the Magistrate is taken to be a Deputy Chief Magistrate under the Local Courts Act 1982.
