Children and Young Persons (Care and New South Wales

Protection) Act 1998 No 157—

Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 18 December 2000 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a)	Chapters 2–6 (except sections 28 and 58),
(b)	Parts 1 and 2 of Chapter 7,
(c)	Division 1 of Part 3 of Chapter 8,
(d)	Chapter 9 (except section 176),
(e)	section 200,
(f)	section 229,
(g)	Chapter 15 (except section 236),
(h)	sections 246–254, 256, 257 and 265.

Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 No 157—Proclamation
Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to further commence provisions of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998. Other provisions of the Act were commenced by proclamations published in Government Gazette No 48 of 17 April 2000, p 3350, and Government Gazette No 148 of 17 November 2000, p 11763. The provisions of the Act that remain to be commenced are sections 28 and 58, Part 3 of Chapter 7, Chapter 8 (except Division 1 of Part 3), Chapter 10 (except section 178), Chapters 11–13, section 236, Chapter 16, section 255 and Schedules 1 and 2.
