Children and Community Services Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2023

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.Citation

These regulations are the Children and Community Services Amendment Regulations (No. 2) 2023.

2.Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

• (a)

  regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;

• (b)

  the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3.Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Children and Community Services Regulations 2006.

4.Regulation 4B inserted

After regulation 4A insert:

4B. Prescribed course (Act s. 124A teacher)

A course is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph (c)(ii) of the definition of teacher in section 124A if —

• (a)

  the course is an approved VET course as defined in the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 section 5(1); and

• (b)

  the course is provided by —

  • (i)

    a college established under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 section 35; and

  • (ii)

    a person employed under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 section 47;

and

• (c)

  the course is provided for students who include children.
