Child Wellbeing and Safety (Wage Inspectorate) Amendment Regulations 2021

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Child Wellbeing and Safety Regulations 2017 to prescribe the Wage Inspectorate Victoria as a relevant authority for the purposes of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 47 of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 July 2021.

4Regulation 1 amended

After regulation 1(b) of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Regulations 2017[1] insert

"(ba)to prescribe the Wage Inspectorate Victoria as a relevant authority for the purposes of that Act;".

5Prescribed authority for definition of relevant authority

After regulation 7 of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Regulations 2017 insert

7APrescribed relevant authority"

For the purposes of paragraph (d)(ii) of the definition of relevant authority in section 3(1) of the Act, the Wage Inspectorate Victoria (established under section 19 of the Wage Theft Act 2020) is prescribed.".
