Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005

Child Wellbeing and Safety Amendment (Child Safe Standards Sector Regulators) Regulations 2022

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Child Wellbeing and Safety Regulations 2017 to further prescribe a sector regulator for the purposes of section 25B of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 47 of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 January 2023.

4Regulation 7A amended

(1)In regulation 7A(b) of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Regulations 2017[1], for "Victoria." substitute "Victoria; or".

(2)After regulation 7A(b) of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Regulations 2017 insert

"(c)for a relevant entity referred to in item 22, 32, 33, 35, 36, 37, 39 or 40 of Schedule 1 to the Act, the Secretary to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.".
