AN ACT to amend the Child Welfare Act, 19474954.

[Assented to 9th December, 1955.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Child Welfare

and citation.

Act Amendment Act, 1955.

(2) In this Act the Child Welfare Act, 1947-1954,

Act No. 66 of 1947 as amended by Acts Nos.

52 of 1950, 16 of 1952, and 73 of 1954,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Child Welfare Act, 1947-1955.

amendmen

2.

The principal Act is amended by substituting

for the word, "Secretary" wherever it appears, the

word, "Director".

3.    Section seven of the principal Act is amended

amended.

by adding after the word, "appoint" in line one,

the words, "an Assistant Director,".

4.

Section twenty of the principal Act is amended

by adding after the word, "by" in line two of para-

graph (a), the words, "or against".

The principal Act is amended by adding after
