An Act to amend the Child Support (Adoption of Laws) Act 1990.

[Assented to 30 June 2000]

The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1.             Short title

This Act may be cited as the Child Support (Adoption of Laws)

Amendment Act 2000.

2.             Commencement

This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives

the Royal Assent.

3.             The Act amended

The amendments in this Act are to the Child Support (Adoption

of Laws) Act 1990*.

4.             Purpose of Act

The purpose of this Act is to provide that the adoption by the

Child Support (Adoption of Laws) Act 1990 of —

(a)

the Child Support (Registration and Collection) amended by —

(i)      the Child Support Legislation Amendment Act 1995;

(ii)      the Family Law Reform (Consequential Amendments) Act 1995;

(iii)      the Taxation Laws Amendment Act (No. 3) 1995;

(iv)      the Commonwealth Services Delivery Agency (Consequential Amendments) Act 1997;

(v)      the Child Support Legislation Amendment Act (No. 1) 1997;

(vi)      the Audit (Transitional and Miscellaneous) Amendment Act 1997;

(vii)      the Taxation Laws Amendment Act (No. 3) 1998;

(viii)      the Child Support Legislation Amendment Act 1998; and

(ix)      the Financial Sector Reform (Amendments and Transitional Provisions) Act (No. 1) 1999,

of the Commonwealth; and

(b) the Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989 of the Commonwealth extends to that Act as amended by —

(i)      the Child Support Legislation Amendment Act 1995;

(ii)      the Social Security Legislation Amendment (Family Measures) Act 1995;

(iii)      the Family Law Reform (Consequential Amendments) Act 1995;

(iv)      the Statute Law Revision Act 1996;

(v)      the Commonwealth Services Delivery Agency (Consequential Amendments) Act 1997;

(vi)      the Income Tax (Consequential Amendments) Act 1997;

(vii)      the Child Support Legislation Amendment Act (No. 1) 1997;

(viii)      the Social Security Legislation Amendment (Parenting and Other Measures) Act 1997;

(ix)

the Social Security and Veterans’ Affairs Measures) Act 1998; and

(x)      the Child Support Legislation Amendment Act 1998,

of the Commonwealth.

5.             Section 3 amended

Section 3(a) is amended by deleting “on 23 June 1993;” and

inserting instead —

“ on 1 July 1999; ”.

6.             Section 4 amended

Section 4(b) is amended by deleting “on 1 July 1993;” and

inserting instead —

“ on 1 July 1999; ”.
