Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to make an amendment consequential on the restructuring of the NSW sections 12A (2) and 22 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Amendment
(Restructuring of NSW Police Force) Regulation 2018.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Regulation 2015

(1) Clause 18 Manner in which registrable person may report

Omit “Local Area Command” from clause 18 (1).

Insert instead “police area command or police district”.

(2) Clause 18 (4)
Omit the definitions of Local Area Command and Crime Manager.
Insert in alphabetical order:

Crime Manager, in relation to a police area command or police district,

means the police officer for the time being appointed by the Commissioner of Police to the position of Crime Manager for that command or district, and includes any police officer acting in that position.

police area command means an area designated by the Commissioner

of Police as a police area command.

police district means an area designated by the Commissioner of Police
as a police district.
