Proclamation

JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN,
by Deputation from Her Excellency the Governor
I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the
advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Child

Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000, do, by this myProclamation, appoint

19 July 2002 as the day on which Schedule 1.2 [2] to that Act commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to commence the uncommenced amendment made to the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998 by the Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000. That amendment includes certain criminal records relating to registrable persons under the Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act 2000 within the definition of relevant criminal record for the purposes of the employment screening provisions under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998.
