Regulation under the Child Protection (Offenders Prohibition Orders) Act 2004.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the police officer in charge of the Child Protection Register of the NSW Police Force as a person to whom the Commissioner of Police can delegate the function of applying for the making, variation or revocation of a child protection prohibition order or a contact prohibition order if the order is against a person who is under 18 years of age.

This Regulation is made under the Child Protection (Offenders Prohibition Orders) Act 2004, including sections 17 and 21 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Child Protection (Offenders Prohibition Orders) Amendment
(Delegation) Regulation 2013.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Child Protection (Offenders Prohibition Orders) Regulation 2013

Clause 3A

Insert after clause 3:

3A Delegation of functions of making applications in respect of orders
against young registrable persons

For the purposes of section 17 of the Act, the police officer in charge of the Child Protection Register of the NSW Police Force is prescribed.
