Child Care Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Child Care Act 1972.

1. Regulation 2 of the Child Care Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Interpretation

“2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears, ‘the Act’ means the Child Care Act 1972.”.

Prescribed number of places—paragraph 11 (2) (d) of the Act

2. Regulation 3a is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2).

Repeal of regulations 6, 7, 7a, 8 and 9

3. Regulations 6, 7, 7a, 8 and 9 of the Child Care Regulations are repealed and the following regulation substituted:

Motor vehicle allowance

“6. For the purposes of sub-section 19 (3) of the Act, the following allowances are payable, namely, the allowances payable to an officer of the Australian Public Service in respect of his use of a motor vehicle for official purposes.”.

 

4. The Child Care Regulations are further amended as set out in the Schedule.

(a) Omit “paragraph (d) of sub-section (2) of section 11”, substitute “paragraph 11 (2) (d)”.

(b) Omit “three quarters”, substitute “75 per cent”.

Regulation 4

Omit “sub-section (5) of section 11”, substitute “sub-section 11 (5)”.

Regulation 5

Omit “sub-section (2) of section 12”, substitute “sub-section 12 (2)”.

Paragraph 5 (a)

(a) Omit “three”, substitute “3”.

(b) Omit “one dollar”, substitute “$1”.

Paragraph 5 (b)

(a) Omit “three”, substitute “3”.

(b) Omit “sixty”, substitute “60”.
