REGULATIONS UNDER THE CHILD CARE ACT 1972.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Child Care Act 1972.

Amendments of the Child Care Regulations

1. After regulation 3 of the Child Care Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—

Prescribed number of places.

“3a. For the purpose of paragraph (d) of sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Act the number of places is thirty-four.”.

Travelling allowance.

2. Regulation 6 of the Child Care Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the word “Twenty-five” and substituting the word “Twenty-eight”.

3. After regulation 7 of the Child Care Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—

Salary of the Chairman.

“7a. In respect of any period of office before 1st January, 1974, there is payable to the Chairman salary at the rate of Five thousand one hundred and fifty dollars per year.”.

Application.

4. The rate specified in sub-regulation (1) of regulation 6 of the Child Care Regulations as amended by these Regulations applies in relation to travelling allowance paid or payable to a member of the committee in respect of travel on 2nd April, 1973, or any subsequent day.
