REGULATIONS UNDER THE CHILD CARE ACT 1972-1973.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Child Care Act 1972-1973.

Amendments of the Child Care Regulations

Prescribed proportion— paragraphs 11 (2) (a), (b) and (c) of the Act.

1. Regulation 3 of the Child Care Regulations is repealed and the following regulation substituted:—

“3. For the purpose of each of paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Act, the proportion, in respect of the quarter that commences on 1 January 1975 or a subsequent quarter, is three-quarters.”.

Prescribed number of places and prescribed proportion— paragraph 11 (2) (d) of the Act.

2. Regulation 3a of the Child Care Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(2) For the purpose of paragraph (d) of sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Act, the proportion, in respect of a quarter that ends before 1 January 1975, is one-half.”.

Prescribed proportion— paragraph 11 (2) (d) of the Act.

3. After regulation 3a of the Child Care Regulations the following regulation is inserted:—

“3b. For the purpose of paragraph (d) of sub-section (2) of section 11 of the Act, the proportion, in respect of the quarter that commences on 1 January 1975 or a subsequent quarter, is three-quarters.”.

Prescribed amounts.

4. Regulation 5 of the Child Care Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) the words “Twenty-five cents” and substituting the words “One dollar”; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) the words “Fifteen cents” and substituting the words “Sixty cents”.

Commencement.

5. (1) Regulations 1, 3 and 4 shall come into operation on 1 January 1975.

(2) The amendment effected by regulation 2 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 30 August 1973.
