Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Chicken Meat Industry (Fees) Variation Regulations 2008.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on 1 July 2008.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

Part 2—Variation of Chicken Meat Industry Regulations 2004

4—Substitution of Schedule 1

Schedule 1—delete the Schedule and substitute:

For a processor that—

    (a)    processes more than 2 million meat chickens each year

    (b)    processes between 1 million and 2 million meat chickens each year

    (c)     processes less than 1 million meat chickens each year

For a grower—

    (a)    with more than 20 000 square metres in area of shed space available for growing meat chickens

    (b)    with shed space available for growing meat chickens of between 8 000 and 20 000 square metres in area

    (c)     with less than 8 000 square metres in area of shed space available for growing meat chickens

As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
