Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions—Sierra Leone) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, william patrick deane, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Charter of the United Nations Act 1945.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on gazettal.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions—Sierra Leone) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 2 (Object)

3.1   Paragraph 2 (a):

Omit the paragraph.

4.  Regulation 3 (Interpretation)

4.1   Definition of Resolution 1132:

Omit “8 October 1997.”, substitute:

“, 8 October 1997, as affected by Resolution 1156 (1998), adopted on 16 March 1998.”.

5.   Regulation 4 (Prohibition on supply of arms, etc)

5.1   Paragraph 4 (1) (a):

Omit the paragraph.

5.2   Subregulation 4 (2):

Omit the subregulation.

5.3   Subregulation 4 (3), (definitions of petroleum and petroleum product):

Omit the definitions.
