1Name

This is the Charter of the United Nations Legislation Amendment (Sanctions—Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Iran) Regulation 2014.

2Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3Authority

This instrument is made under the Charter of the United Nations Act 1945.

4Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions—Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) Regulations 2008

1  At the end of paragraph 5(1)(b)

Add “determined by the Minister under subregulation (2)”.

2  Paragraph 5(1)(c)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                    (c)  either:

                             (i)  goods mentioned in a document specified by the Minister under subregulation (3); or

                            (ii)  if no legislative instrument is in force under subregulation (3)—goods mentioned in subregulation (4);

3  At the end of regulation 5

Add:

            (3)  The Minister may, by legislative instrument, specify documents for subparagraph (1)(c)(i).

            (4)  For subparagraph (1)(c)(ii), the goods are goods mentioned in the following Security Council and International Atomic Energy Agency documents:

                    (a)  S/2006/814;

                    (b)  S/2006/815;

                    (c)  S/2006/853;

                    (d)  INFCIRC/254/Rev.9/Part 1a;

                    (e)  INFCIRC/254/Rev.7/Part 2a.

4  Paragraph 7(b)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                    (b)  goods mentioned in paragraph 5(1)(c);

5  Paragraph 5(1)(a)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                    (a)  either:

                             (i)  goods mentioned in a document specified by the Minister under subregulation (1A); or

                            (ii)  if no legislative instrument is in force under subregulation (1A)—goods mentioned in INFCIRC/254/Rev.9/Part 1, INFCIRC/254/Rev.7/Part 2 or Security Council document S/2010/263;

6  Paragraph 5(1)(d)

Omit “this regulation”, substitute “subregulation (2)”.

7  After subregulation 5(1)

Insert:

         (1A)  The Minister may, by legislative instrument, specify documents for subparagraph (1)(a)(i).

8  Paragraph 6(a)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                    (a)  goods mentioned in paragraph 5(1)(a);
