CENSORSHIP REGULATIONS 1996
Made by the Lieutenant-Governor and deputy of the Governor in Executive
Council.
Citation
1. These regulations may be cited as the Censorship Regulations 1996.
Commencement
2. These regulations come into operation on the day on which the Censorship Act 1996 comes into operation.
Fee for classification of a film
3. (1) For the purposes of section 25 (1) (d) (i) of the Act and subject to regulation 11, the fee for a category of film for public exhibition specified in an item in column 2 in the Table to this subregulation is the amount prescribed in column 3 in the item.

For the purposes of section 25 (1) (d) (i) of the Act and subject to regulation 11, the fee for a category of film for sale or hire specified in an item in column 2 in the Table to this subregulation is the amount prescribed in column 3 in the item.

Fee for classification of computer game
4. For the purposes of section 28 (1) (d) of the Act and subject to regulation 11,
the fee for a category of computer game specified in an item in column 2 in the
Table to this regulation is the amount prescribed in column 3 in the item.

5. For the purposes of sections 38 (2) and 56 (2) of the Act, a fee of $25 is
prescribed.
Fee for approval of an advertisement
6. For the purposes of section 40 (3) (d) of the Act, the fee for a category of
advertisement specified in a n item in column 2 in the Table to this regulation
is the amount prescribed in column 3 in the item.

7. For the purposes of section 43 (2) (d) of the Act a fee of $200 is prescribed.
Fees for review of decision
8. (1) For the purposes of section 54 (1) (d) of the Act, the fee for review of a decision specified in an item in column 2 of the Table to this subregulation in relation to an article specified in column 3 in the item is the amount prescribed in column 4 in relation to the article.

9. For the purposes of section 131 (1) (d) of the Act a fee of $75 in respect of each premises proposed to be registered, or registered, in the name of the
applicant is prescribed.
Fee for inspecting or copying register
10. For the purposes of section 135 (5) of the Act -
(a) a fee of $5 is prescribed for inspecting the register; and (b) a fee of $1 per page is prescribed for copies of the register.
Fee for list of classified publications 11. For the purposes of section 137 (b) of the Act a fee of $10 is prescribed.
When certain fees are reduced or not payable
12. (1) In this regulation -
"eligible document" means -
(a) an application for classification of a film or computer game; or
(b)
a copy of a classification certificate under section 38 of the Act;
"year" means a period of 12 months commencing on the day on which
these regulations come into operation or a succeeding period of
12 months.
(2) The fee for an eligible document is not payable if -
(a)
the eligible document is requested on behalf of a public sector body or the Police Force in relation to enforcement of a provision of the Act; and
(b)
this subregulation has not applied previously in that year in relation to that public sector body or the Police Force to more than 100 eligible documents.
(3) If subregulation (2) has applied in a year in relation to a public sector body or the Police Force, the fee payable for an application for classification of
a film or computer game that -
(a) relates to the enforcement of a provision of the Act; and (b) is made later in that year,
is 50% of the relevant fee prescribed in regulation 3 or 4 as the case may be.
