Cemeteries and Crematoria Amendment Regulations 2025

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objectives

The objectives of these Regulations are to amend various forms in Schedule 1 to the Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulations 2025 and to make other minor amendments to those Regulations.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 180 of the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulations 2025[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definition of sealed cap

In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, in the definition of sealed cap, after "coffin," insert "casket,".

5Requirements for enclosure of bodily remains and body parts

In regulation 34 of the Principal Regulations, after "coffin," insert "casket,".

6Regulation 35 amended

(1)In the heading to regulation 35 of the Principal Regulations, after "coffins," insert "caskets,".

(2)In regulation 35 of the Principal Regulations, after "coffin," insert "casket,".

7Depth of burial requirements

In regulation 36(1)(b) of the Principal Regulations, after "coffin," insert "casket,".

8Interment in mausolea

(1)In regulation 39(1) of the Principal Regulations, after "coffin," insert "casket,".
