AN ACT to amend the Cemeteries Act, 1897-1946.

[Assented to 1st November, 1955.]

BE it enacted, by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Cemeteries short

Act Amendment Act, 1955.

(2) In this Act the Cemeteries Act, 1897-1946,

Act 61 Victories No. 23, 1897 as amended by Acts 62 Victori No. 25, 1898, 63 Victories No. 38, 1899, 2 Edwardi VII., No. 42, 1902, No. 22 of 1911 and No. 28 of 1946,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Cemeteries Act, 1897-1955.

amended.

2. Section thirty-five of the principal Act is

amended by

(a)

adding after the word "or" where first occurring in line two the words "attempts to so destroy or so injure or";

(b)

adding the word "so" before the word "destroyed" and the word "injured" in line two;

(c)

substituting for the words "affixed to, or growing in" in line four the words "whether of the same kind as, or a different kind from the foregoing things, in".
