CATTLE COMPENSATION ACT 1951 - REGULATION

(Relating to the removal of provisions relating to the

cattle compensation levy)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Cattle Compensation Regulations are amended: (a) by omitting Regulations 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 14; (b) by omitting from Form 1 the following matter:

(5) I have not during the period of two years preceding the date of this application failed to furnish a return in pursuance of section 39 of the Pastures Protection Act 1934 as amended or a return in pursuance of section 16C of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951 as amended within the times, respectively, prescribed under such Acts and have not during such period furnished such a return containing incorrect or misleading information.

(6) All special rates payable by me in accordance with section 16D of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951-1956 have been paid.

(c) by omitting from Form 1A the following matter:

The owner has not during the period of two years preceding the date of this application failed to furnish a return in pursuance of section 39 of the Pastures Protection Act 1934, as amended, or a return in pursuance of section 16C of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951, as amended, within the times, respectively, prescribed under such Acts and has not during such period furnished such a return containing incorrect or misleading information.

(d)

All special rates payable by the owner in accordance with section 16D of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951-1956 have been paid.

(d) by omitting from Form 2 the following matter:

(5) I have not during the period of two years preceding the date of this application failed to furnish a return in pursuance of section 39 of the Pastures Protection Act 1934, as amended, or a return in pursuance of section 16C of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951 as amended within the times, respectively, prescribed under such Acts and have not during such period furnished such a return containing incorrect or misleading information.

(6) All special rates payable by me in accordance with section 16D of the Cattle Compensation Act 1951-1956 have been paid.

(e) by omitting Forms 3, 4 and 5.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to remove from the Cattle Compensation

Regulations certain provisions dealing with the imposition of a cattle compensation

levy.

The Cattle Compensation Act 1951 provides for the imposition of a cattle compensation levy in circumstances where a rate for the levy is prescribed. No such rate is currently prescribed.
