1Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Catchment Management Authorities (Savings and Transitional) Regulation 2004.

2Commencement

This Regulation commences on 27 February 2004.

3Definition

In this Regulation:

the Act means the Catchment Management Authorities Act 2003.

4Interim boards for authorities(1)

The board for an authority is, until such time as its members are appointed in accordance with section 8 of the Act or until 31 August 2004 (whichever is the sooner), to consist of such person or persons as may be appointed by the Minister.

Schedule 3 to the Act applies, with such modifications as are necessary, to and in respect of any such interim board.

5Carrying out or funding of catchment activities pending approval of first annual implementation program

An authority is, until such time as the first annual implementation program of the authority is approved by the Minister under the Act or until 31 December 2005 (whichever is the sooner), authorised to carry out or fund catchment activities in accordance with such guidelines as are approved by the Minister.
