s1 2 s5 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 3) No. 234, 1998 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 3) 1998 . ˙ Rules amended 2. This rule amends the Casino Gaming Rules 1985 . ˙ Amendment of s 216 (Permissible wagers) 3. Section 216(3) to (6)— omit, insert— ‘ (3) The minimum wager for each keno entry ticket must be— (a) for a jackpot wager—at least $1; and (b) for other wagers—at least 50c. ‘ (4) Wagers may be accepted in multiples of— (a) for a jackpot wager—$1; and (b) for other wagers—10c.’. ˙ Amendment of s 223 (Jackpot keno) 4. Section 223— insert— ‘ (4) At least 15% of the amount wagered by players of jackpot keno must be put aside to accumulate as a jackpot pool.’. ˙ Amendment of s 259 (Equipment and information) 5. Section 259(2) and (3)— omit, insert— ‘ (2) Also, the casino operator must display, at or near the table, a sign showing the amount of the minimum table stake and the amount of the blind bet, in letters and numbers at least 8 mm high.
s6 3 s8 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 3) No. 234, 1998 ‘ (3) The casino operator must ensure the amount of the minimum table stake or the amount of the blind bet is not changed to a higher amount unless— (a) a sign showing the new amount, and the proposed time of change, is displayed at or near the table for at least 20 minutes before the proposed time; or (b) all players at the table agree to the change.’. ˙ Amendment of s 263 (Shuffling cards before each round of play) 6. Section 263(2)(b) to (e)— omit, insert— ‘(b) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the top of the deck squarely on top of the cutting card; and (c) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the bottom of the deck squarely on top of the other cards and the cutting card; and (d) place the deck and cutting card in a dealing shoe.’. ˙ Amendment of s 271 (Sequence for second, third, fourth and final rounds of betting) 7. Section 271(7)(a)(v)— omit, insert— ‘(v) passes the pot, with the commission deducted, to the player with the highest ranking poker hand; and’. ˙ Amendment of s 273 (Raises) 8. Section 273(2) to (4)— omit, insert— ‘ (2) If a player makes a raise in the first, second, third or fourth round of betting, the raise must be equal to or twice the amount of the blind bet. ‘ (3) If a player makes a raise in the final round of betting, the raise must be equal to, or twice, 3 times or 4 times the amount of the blind bet.
s 9 4 s 11 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 3) No. 234, 1998 ‘ (4) A raise made in a round of betting must not be less than any previous raise made in the round. ‘ (5) Despite subsections (2) to (4), if only 2 players are contesting a pot, each player may raise until the player has used the player’s table stake.’. ˙ Amendment of s 274 (Tapping out) 9. Section 274(7)— omit, insert— ‘ (7) If a player ( “player B” ) taps out and another player ( “player C” ) makes an uncalled opening bet or an uncalled raise for a round of betting, entitlement to the pot formed before player B tapped out is decided on a comparison of player B’s hand and player C’s hand.’. ˙ Amendment of s 301 (Shuffling cards before each round of play) 10. Section 301(2)(b) to (e)— omit, insert— ‘(b) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the top of the deck squarely on top of the cutting card; and (c) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the bottom of the deck squarely on top of the other cards and the cutting card; and (d) place the deck and cutting card in a dealing shoe.’. ˙ Amendment of s 338 (Shuffling cards before each round of play) 11. Section 338(2)(b) to (e)— omit, insert— ‘(b) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the top of the deck squarely on top of the cutting card; and (c) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the bottom of the deck squarely on top of the other cards and the cutting card; and (d) place the deck and cutting card in a dealing shoe.’.

Section 382(2)(b) to (e)— omit, insert— ‘(b) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the top of the deck squarely on top of the cutting card; and (c) place the cards that, before the cut, formed the bottom of the deck squarely on top of the other cards and the cutting card; and (d) place the deck and cutting card in a dealing shoe.’.
