s1 2 s3 Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 2) 2006 No. 122, 2006 1 Short title This rule may be cited as the Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 2) 2006 . 2 Rule amended This rule amends the Casino Gaming Rule 1999 . 3 Amendment of sch 14 (Texas hold’em poker) (1) Schedule 14, section 2— insert — ‘ absent player means a player who is absent with approval under section 21A(2)(a). new player see section 21A(1). returning player see section 21A(2).’. (2) Schedule 14, section 2, definition active player , ‘gone all-in’— omit, insert — ‘gone all-in but does not include an absent player’. (3) Schedule 14, section 4— insert — ‘(2A) However, a new or returning player may check in the first round of betting.’. (4) Schedule 14, section 4(2A) to (4)— renumber as section 4(3) to (5). (5) Schedule 14, section 18(3)— omit, insert — ‘(3) If it is an absent player’s turn to receive the buck, the next active player receives the buck instead. ‘(4) A player must accept the buck when it is the player’s turn to receive it.’. (6) Schedule 14, section 19, heading, ‘for new players’—

(7) Schedule 14, section 19(5) and (6)— omit, insert — ‘(5) A returning player may continue to play with the table stake the player had when the player left the table, even if the table stake is less than the minimum table stake.’. (8) Schedule 14, part 3— insert— ‘21A New and returning players ‘(1) A person is a new player if— (a) he or she is about to become a player in a round of play for a game and they were not a player in the preceding round of play; and (b) he or she were not directed by a floor manager to move from a table to another table. ‘(2) A player (the returning player ) may return to a game if— (a) he or she left the game with the approval of a casino employee of the level of floor manager or higher; and (b) he or she rejoins the game in accordance with the approval. ‘(3) However, a new or returning player may only join a game during a round of play before the hole cards are dealt.’. (9) Schedule 14, section 23(1), ‘( player A )’— omit. (10) Schedule 14, section 23(2), ‘player A’— omit, insert — ‘the player who made the first blind bet’. (11) Schedule 14, section 23— insert — ‘(2A) If it is an absent player’s turn to make a blind bet under subsection (1) or (2) the next active player must make the blind bet.’.
s3 4 s3 Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 2) 2006 No. 122, 2006 (12) Schedule 14, section 23(3), after ‘has been made’— insert — ‘and all wagers under section 23A have been made’. (13) Schedule 14, section 23(4), ‘player A’— omit, insert — ‘the player who made the first blind bet’. (14) Schedule 14, section 23(2A) to (4)— renumber as section 23(3) to (5). (15) Schedule 14— insert — ‘23A Wagers for new and returning players ‘(1) A new player in a round of play must make a wager equal to the value of the second blind bet. ‘(2) If a returning player was absent during their turn to make a blind bet, they must make a wager equal to the combined total value of all missed blind bets that the returning player would otherwise have been required to make. ‘(3) The wager mentioned in subsection (1) and (2) must be made before the hole cards are dealt.’. (16) Schedule 14, section 24— insert— ‘(3A) However, a new or returning player may also check if no opening bet has been made.’. (17) Schedule 14, section 24(3A) to (10)— renumber as section 24(4) to (11).
