s1 2 s4 Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 2) 2001 No. 148, 2001 1 Short title This rule may be cited as the Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 2) 2001 . 2 Rule amended This rule amends the Casino Gaming Rule 1999. 3 Amendment of s 4 (Definitions) Section 4— insert— “internal controls” , for a casino, means the system of controls and procedures approved by the chief executive under section 75(4) of the Act 1 for the casino. “preshuffled” , in relation to cards, means cards that have been inspected and shuffled under this rule and the internal controls for a casino, before the cards are first placed on a table for play at the casino.’. 4 Amendment of sch 1 (Baccarat) Schedule 1, sections 14, 15 and 16— omit, insert ‘14 Procedures for inspecting and shuffling cards (1) Cards must be inspected and shuffled— (a) under the provisions of this schedule; and (b) under the internal controls for the casino. (2) Before being used in play, the cards must be inspected to check for marks and imperfections and that each deck of cards contains the correct cards. (3) If a player asks to inspect the cards when the cards are first placed on the table for play, the dealer must spread the cards face up on the table to enable a person inspecting them to see if each deck of cards is complete. 1 Section 75 (Chief executive’s approval) of the Act.
s5 3 s5 Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 2) 2001 No. 148, 2001 (4) The cards must be shuffled— (a) before being brought into play; and (b) after the cutting card is reached in the dealing shoe, unless— (i) the cards are taken out of play; or (ii) the table is to close at the end of the last round of play; and (c) after a round of play if directed by a casino employee higher than a floor manager. (5) The dealer must reshuffle cards that have been preshuffled if a player asks the dealer to reshuffle the cards before the first card is removed from the dealing shoe.’. 5 Amendment of sch 2 (Blackjack) (1) Schedule 2, sections 13, 13A and 14— omit, insert ‘13 Procedures for inspecting and shuffling cards (1) Cards must be inspected and shuffled— (a) under the provisions of this schedule; and (b) under the internal controls for the casino. (2) Before being used in play, the cards must be inspected to check for marks and imperfections and that each deck of cards contains the correct cards. (3) If a player asks to inspect the cards when the cards are first placed on the table for play, the dealer must spread the cards face up on the table to enable a person inspecting them to see if each deck of cards is complete. (4) The cards must be shuffled— (a) before being brought into play; and (b) after the cutting card is reached in the dealing shoe, unless— (i) the cards are taken out of play; or (ii) the table is to close at the end of the last round of play; and (c) after a round of play if directed by a casino employee higher than a floor manager.

(2) Schedule 2, section 16(1)(d), ‘section 14(1)(b)’— omit, insert— ‘section 13(4)(c)’. (3) Schedule 2, section 17(2)— omit. (4) Schedule 2, section 21(2), (3) and (4)— omit. (5) Schedule 2, section 58(3)(b), from ‘sorted’ to ‘but are’— omit, insert ‘inspected and shuffled and’. (6) Schedule 2, section 58(4), ‘Sections 11 and 14(1)(b) do’— omit, insert ‘Section 11 does’. (7) Schedule 2, section 61(2)(c), from ‘shuffled’— omit, insert ‘manually shuffled, cut and placed in a dealing shoe;’. (8) Schedule 2, section 61(3), ‘and reported under section 14(1)(b).’— omit, insert— ‘under section 13(4)(c).’. 6 Amendment of sch 3 (Caribbean stud poker) Schedule 3, sections 12 and 13— omit, insert ‘12 Procedures for inspecting, shuffling and cutting cards (1) Cards must be inspected and shuffled— (a) under the provisions of this part; and (b) under the internal controls for the casino.

(5) If the cards have been shuffled manually by the dealer, the dealer must cut the cards and place them with the cutting card into a dealing shoe.’. 7 Amendment of sch 7 (Let it ride bonus) Schedule 7, sections 7 and 8— omit, insert ‘7 Procedures for inspecting, shuffling and cutting cards (1) Cards must be inspected and shuffled— (a) under the provisions of this part; and (b) under the internal controls for the casino. (2) Before being used in play, the cards must be inspected to check for marks and imperfections and that each deck of cards contains the correct cards. (3) If a player asks to inspect the cards when the cards are first placed on the table for play, the dealer must spread the cards face up on the table to enable a person inspecting them to see if each deck of cards is complete. (4) The cards must be shuffled— (a) before being used in play; and (b) at the end of each round of play. (5) If the cards have been shuffled manually by the dealer, the dealer must cut the cards and place them with the cutting card into a dealing shoe.’.
