s1 3 s5 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 1) No. 109, 1998 ˙ Short title 1. This rule may be cited as the Casino Gaming Amendment Rule (No. 1) 1998 . ˙ Rules amended 2. This rule amends the Casino Gaming Rules 1985 . ˙ Amendment of s 23 (Minimum and maximum wagers for tables) 3. Section 23(4), ‘4 tables’— omit, insert— ‘8 tables’. ˙ Replacement of s 53 (Card drawn in error not to be used if play ended) 4. Section 53— omit, insert— ˙ Card drawn in error not to be used 53.(1) Subsection (2) applies if the dealer— (a) has 17 or more points; and (b) accidentally deals another card to the dealer’s hand; and (c) exposes the face of the card to the players. (2) The card must be removed from play and placed in the discard rack.’. ˙ Amendment of s 91 (Sorting and inspecting cards and other procedures) 5. Section 91— insert— (4) Despite subsections (1) to (3), a casino employee of the level of
s6 4 s8 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 1) No. 109, 1998 assistant pit boss or higher may direct the dealer to begin the game using cards that have been preshuffled by being sorted, inspected, spread, mixed, stacked and shuffled in the way required by subsections (1) to (3) (whether or not there was a player present to inspect the cards).’. ˙ Insertion of new s 92A 6. After section 92— insert— ˙ Use of preshuffled cards 92A. If, before the first card from a shoe is dealt, a player asks for preshuffled cards to be re-shuffled, the dealer must shuffle and cut the cards in the way required by sections 92 and 93.’. ˙ Amendment of s 93 (Cutting the cards) 7. Section 93(8)— omit, insert— (8) Before commencing play, the dealer must remove the first card from the shoe and place it, and an additional number of cards equal to the face value of the first card drawn, in the discard holder after the faces of all cards drawn have been shown to the players.’. ˙ Amendment of s 110 (Time and way for wagering) 8.(1) Section 110(2)— omit, insert— (2) A wager at craps is made by placing chips on the appropriate area of the layout. (2A) However, an orally declared wager accompanied by cash placed on the layout may be accepted if— (a) the wager is orally confirmed by the dealer and a boxperson; and (b) the cash is, as soon as practicable, replaced by chips placed on the appropriate area of the layout.’.
s 9 5 s 10 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 1) No. 109, 1998 (2) Section 110(4)— omit . ˙ Amendment of s 119 (Supplemental wagers after come out roll for win bets) 9.(1) Section 119(1), from ‘which shall be’ to ‘a payable unit’— omit. (2) Section 119— insert— (1A) The additional wager may be— (a) an amount equal to the amount of the original win bet; or (b) if the player asks and the casino operator agrees—an amount equal to twice the amount of the original win bet. (1B) If the amount of winnings for a wager mentioned in subsection (1A)(a) or (b) would include part of a dollar, the amount of the winnings may be rounded up to the next whole dollar.’. ˙ Amendment of s 120 (Supplemental wagers after come out roll for don’t win bets) 10.(1) Section 120(1), from ‘which shall be’ to ‘a payable unit’— omit. (2) Section 120— insert— (1A) The additional wager may be— (a) an amount calculated to provide winnings equal to the amount of the original don’t win bet; or (b) if the player asks and the casino operator agrees—an amount calculated to provide winnings equal to twice the amount of the original don’t win bet. (1B) If the amount of winnings mentioned in subsection (1A)(a) or (b)
s 11 6 s 12 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 1) No. 109, 1998 would include part of a dollar, the amount may be rounded up to the next whole dollar.’. ˙ Amendment of s 121 (Supplemental wagers after come out roll for come bets) 11.(1) Section 121(1), from ‘which shall be’ to ‘a payable unit’— omit. (2) Section 121— insert— (1A) The additional wager may be— (a) an amount equal to the amount of the original come bet; or (b) if the player asks and the casino operator agrees—an amount equal to twice the amount of the original come bet. (1B) If the amount of winnings for a wager mentioned in subsection (1A)(a) or (b) would include part of a dollar, the amount of the winnings may be rounded up to the next whole dollar.’. ˙ Amendment of s 122 (Supplemental wagers after come out roll for don’t come bets) 12.(1) Section 122(1), from ‘which shall be’ to ‘a payable unit’— omit . (2) Section 122— insert— (1A) The additional wager may be— (a) an amount calculated to provide winnings equal to the amount of the original don’t come bet; or (b) if the player asks and the casino operator agrees—an amount calculated to provide winnings equal to twice the amount of the original don’t come bet. (1B) If the amount of winnings mentioned in subsection (1A)(a) or (b)
s 13 7 s 15 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 1) No. 109, 1998 would include part of a dollar, the amount may be rounded up to the next whole dollar.’. ˙ Amendment of s 189 (Table and layout) 13.(1) Section 189(1), ‘either 7 or 9 players’— omit, insert— ‘up to 9 players’. (2) Section 189(3)— omit, insert— (3) The table must have 3 betting areas for each player.’. ˙ Amendment of s 199 (Sorting and inspecting cards before washing them) 14. Section 199— insert— (4) Despite subsections (1) to (3), a casino employee of the level of assistant pit boss or higher may direct the dealer to begin the game using cards that have been preshuffled by being sorted, inspected, spread, mixed, stacked and shuffled in the way required by subsections (1) to (3) (whether or not there was a player present to inspect the cards).’. ˙ Insertion of new s 200A 15. After section 200— insert— ˙ Use of preshuffled cards 200A. If, before the first card from a shoe is dealt, a player asks for preshuffled cards to be re-shuffled, the dealer must shuffle and cut the cards as required by sections 200 and 201.’.
s 16 8 s 17 Casino Gaming Amendment (No. 1) No. 109, 1998 ˙ Amendment of s 201 (Cutting the cards) 16. Section 201(8) and (9)— omit, insert— (8) Before commencing play, the dealer must remove the first card from the shoe face down and place it in the discard holder. (9) However, if a player asks, the dealer must show the face of the card to the players. (10) If a player asks and all other players at the table agree, a casino employee of the level of assistant pit boss or higher may direct the dealer to remove an additional number of cards equal to the face value of the first card drawn and to place them in the discard holder after the faces of all cards drawn have been shown to the players. (11) For subsection (10)— (a) a 10, jack, queen or king card has a face value of 10; and (b) an ace card has a face value of 1.’. ˙ Amendment of s 236 (Placing ante and jackpot wagers) 17. Section 236— insert— (2) Subsection (1)(b) does not apply if the equipment for making a jackpot wager has malfunctioned or requires maintenance.’. ENDNOTES 1.
