    Editorial changes

    The Legislation Act 2001, part 11.3 authorises the Parliamentary Counsel to make editorial amendments and other changes of a formal nature when preparing a law for republication.  Editorial changes do not change the effect of the law, but have effect as if they had been made by an Act commencing on the republication date (see Legislation Act 2001, s 115 and s 117). The changes are made if the Parliamentary Counsel considers they are desirable to bring the law into line, or more closely into line, with current legislative drafting practice.

    This republication does not include amendments made under part 11.3 (see endnote 1).

    Uncommenced provisions and amendments

    If a provision of the republished law has not commenced or is affected by an uncommenced amendment, the symbol  U  appears immediately before the provision heading.  The text of the uncommenced provision or amendment appears only in the last endnote.

    Modifications

    1. Name of regulation

      This regulation is the Casino Control Regulation 1992.

    3ACommission-based player scheme—prescribed amount

    For the Act, section 3, definition of commission-based player scheme, paragraph (b), the prescribed amount is $1 000.

    1. Cheques

      (1)For the Act, section 80 (1), the following kinds of cheques are specified:

      (a)for a cheque presented to the casino licensee in accordance with the Act, section 82 to redeem other cheques, a cheque—

      (i)that is drawn in favour of the casino licensee or the person presenting the cheque; and

      (ii)that is not postdated or dated earlier than the date of the most recent of the cheques to be redeemed;

      (b)in any other case, a cheque—

      (i)that is drawn in favour of the casino licensee or the person presenting the cheque; and

      (ii)that is not postdated.

      (2)For the Act, section 80 (1), the procedure of presenting a cheque to a cashier of the casino licensee for acceptance is specified.

    2. Designation of casino—the Act, s 4

      (1)The following areas are designated to be the casino:

      (a)the area outlined in bold on the plan in schedule 1, part 1.1 and part 1.2;

      (b)the area outlined in bold on the plan in schedule 1, part 1.3 (other than the ACTTAB area).

      (2)In subsection (1) (b):

      ACTTAB area means the area on the plan in schedule 1, part 1.3 described as the nondesignated area (an expanded view of which appears in schedule 1, part 1.4).
