Exemption — recording time-in-service

Determination — non-application of part of CAO 100.5

1          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 1 July 2015; and

(b)   expires at the end of May 2018, as if it had been repealed by another instrument.

2          Application

                 This instrument applies to:

(a)   Class A aircraft (the aircraft); and

(b)   the owner, the operator and the pilot in command of a Class A aircraft (the relevant persons).

3          Exemption

                 Each aircraft and each relevant person is exempt from compliance with regulation 43B of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR 1988).

4          Conditions

                 The exemption is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1.

5          Determination

                 I determine that subparagraphs 6.5 (d), (e) and (f) of CAO 100.5 do not apply to Class A aircraft.

Schedule 1          Conditions

      1     The operator of the aircraft must ensure that the time-in-service information for the aircraft that is necessary to meet continuing airworthiness requirements is recorded and the record of that information is kept up-to-date.

2 The operator of the aircraft must include in the operator’s maintenance control manual prepared for regulation 42ZY of CAR 1988 details of the method of recording time-in-service information for clause 1.
