Exemption — recent experience requirements

1          Duration

          This instrument:

(a)   commences on the day after it is registered; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of July 2011.

2          Application

          This instrument applies to a pilot in command of an aircraft operated by Qantas Airways Limited, Aviation Reference Number 216147 (Qantas), carrying out ILS or LLZ approach in I.M.C.

3          Exemption

          The holder of a command instrument rating (the holder) is exempt from compliance with the requirements of regulation 5.18 of CAR 1988 in relation to recent experience requirements mentioned in paragraph 11.4 of Civil Aviation Order 40.2.1.

4          Conditions

          The exemption is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1           Conditions

          The holder must:

(a)   be a participant in the Qantas cyclic training and proficiency program (program); and

(b)   conduct at least 1 ILS approach during each session of the program in the type of aircraft or in a simulator; and

(c)   demonstrate during each session of the program that he or she is proficient in ILS approach procedures in the type of aircraft represented by an approved simulator.
