Exemption — to produce a modification or replacement part

1          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences on the day after it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of October 2007.

2          Application

            This instrument applies to each person (a manufacturer) who:

(a)   produces a modification or replacement part for sale or installation on a type certificated aircraft, aircraft engine or propeller; and

(b)   is not otherwise permitted, under subregulation 21.303 (1) of CASR 1998, to produce the modification or replacement.

3          Exemption

             The manufacturer is exempt from compliance with subregulation 21.303 (1) of CASR 1998.

4          Condition

            The exemption is subject to the condition that, in producing the modification or replacement part, the manufacturer must use a relevant process approved by CASA in accordance with paragraph 21.305 (e) of CASR 1998.
