Exemption — provision of ARFFS at Broome International Airport

1          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences on 2 July 2008; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 31 December 2008.

2          Application

            This instrument applies to the provision of aerodrome rescue and fire fighting services at Broome International Airport by Airservices Australia (AA) of 25 Constitution Avenue, Canberra, ACT 2601.

3          Exemption

AA is exempt from compliance with the provisions of CASR 1998 mentioned in Schedule 1 in respect of the provisions of the Manual of Standards Part 139H (MOS 139H) mentioned in that Schedule.

4          Conditions

            The exemption is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 2.

Schedule 1          Provisions

Regulations 139.765, 139.890, 139.895 and 139.900 of CASR 1998 in respect of Chapter 10 and paragraph 23.1.1.1 of MOS 139H.

Note

1   Chapter 10 relates to safety hazard, risk management and safety systems.

2   Paragraph 23.1.1.1 of MOS 139H states that a management system must be established and documented, which defines the policy, procedures and practices for managing the safety of the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Services and any change in the level of service provision.

Schedule 2          Conditions

      1     AA must give to CASA the required safety case no later than COB Friday 11 July 2008.

      2     The safety case must be in accordance with AA’s policies and procedures.
