Exemption — carriage of life rafts

1          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences on the day after it is registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of July 2007.

2          Application

             This instrument applies to the Fokker F28 MK 100 aircraft operated by Alliance Airlines Pty Ltd, Aviation Reference Number 593564, in non-extended range operations involving flights over water.

3          Exemption

(1) The aircraft are exempt from compliance with directions under subregulation 252 (1) of CAR 1988 to the extent mentioned in subsection (2).

   (2)     The exemption applies only to the requirement to comply with paragraph 5.2.1 of Civil Aviation Order 20.11 in relation to the carriage of life rafts.

4          Condition

            The exemption is subject to the condition that the aircraft must be within the lesser of 60 minutes at single engine cruising speed, or 351 nautical miles, from an adequate aerodrome as defined in Civil Aviation Order 82.0.
