Exemption — carriage and use of automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast equipment

1          Duration

This instrument:

(a)   commences on the day after it is registered; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 22 September 2007.

2          Application

This instrument applies to the Pilatus PC-12 aircraft with nationality and registration marks VH-MWO and VH-VWO operated by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations), Aviation Reference Number 539707 (the operator), when conducting flight tests for the purposes of validating non‑approved automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast equipment.

3          Exemption

The operator, each aircraft, and each pilot in command of the aircraft, is exempt from compliance with the directions under subregulations 207 (2) and (3) of CAR 1988 to the extent mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1          Extent of exemption

The exemption extends only to the requirement to comply with paragraphs 9B.2 and 9B.3 of Civil Aviation Order 20.18 (for the carriage and use of automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast equipment).
