EXEMPTION AND DETERMINATION RELATING TO RECORDING CERTAIN AIRCRAFT INFORMATION
I, BRUCE ROBERT GEMMELL, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, a delegate of CASA:
(a)under regulation 308 of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR 1988), having taken into account all relevant considerations relating to the interests of safety, issue the exemption set out in Schedule 1; and
(b)under paragraph 1.2 of section 100.5 of the Civil Aviation Orders, having taken into account all relevant considerations relating to the interests of safety, determine that subparagraphs 6.5 (d), (e) and (f) of the section do not apply in relation to each Class A aircraft.
SCHEDULE 1
EXEMPTION FROM RECORDING OF TIME-IN-SERVICE ON MAINTENANCE RELEASES
The exemption exempts:
(a)each Class A aircraft from compliance with the requirements of regulation 43B of CAR 1988; and
(b)the owner, operator and pilot in command of a Class A aircraft from compliance with the requirements of regulation 43B of CAR 1988 while they are in, on, or otherwise associated with the operation of, the aircraft;
on condition that the operator of the aircraft:
(c)ensures that the aircraft’s approved system of maintenance includes an approved recording method for time-in-service which is sufficient to meet continuing airworthiness requirements; and
(d)includes details of the recording method in the operator’s maintenance control manual prepared for the purposes of regulation 42ZY of CAR 1988.
This instrument stops having effect at the end of July 2006.
