EXEMPTION OF AUTHORISED FLYING INSTRUCTORS EMPLOYED BY SINGAPORE FLYING COLLEGE PTE LTD

I, BRUCE ROBERT GEMMELL, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, having taken into account all relevant considerations relating to the interests of safety, issue the following exemption under regulation 308 of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (CAR 1988).

EXEMPTION

When conducting flying training, an authorised flying instructor employed by Singapore Flying College PTE Ltd (Aviation Reference Number W901286) (the College) is exempt from compliance with paragraph 5.70 (a) of CAR 1988 on condition that the flying instructor ensures that the flying training is conducted:

(a)only in Cessna 172 or Beechcraft 58 type aircraft;  and

(b)only in relation to student pilots of the College who:

(i)have at least 20 hours aeronautical experience in a registered or a recognised aeroplane of which 5 hours are as pilot in command and at least 2 hours are instrument flight time;  and

(ii)have completed a flight test (for the category of aircraft that the student proposes to fly) that is:

(A)based on a syllabus of flying training that is nominated by the College and approved in writing by CASA as equivalent to the general flying progress flight test;  and

(B)conducted by an approved testing officer or CASA;  and

(c)only for the purposes of the flying instructor’s employment by the College.


This instrument:

(a)starts having effect on 1 August 2004;  and

(b)stops having effect at the end of July 2006.
