Exemption — carriage and use of automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast equipment

1          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences immediately after the registration of Civil Aviation Order 20.18 Amendment Order (No. 1) 2007; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 30 June 2008.

2          Application

            This instrument applies to each Boeing 747-400 aircraft operated by Qantas Airways Limited, Aviation Reference Number 216147 (the operator).

3          Exemption

The operator, each aircraft, and each pilot in command of the aircraft, is exempt from compliance with the directions under subregulations 207 (2) and (3) of CAR 1988 to the extent mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1          Extent of exemption

          The exemption extends only to the requirement to comply with subsection 9B of Civil Aviation Order 20.18 (for the carriage and use of automatic dependent surveillance — broadcast equipment).
