Exemption — carriage of life rafts

1          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences on the day after it is registered; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 31 May 2009.

2          Application

             This instrument applies to the Embraer ERJ-170/190 aircraft operated by Capiteq Limited, trading as Airnorth, Aviation Reference Number 518845, for operations in non-extended range operations involving flights over water.

3          Exemption

(1) The aircraft are exempt from compliance with directions under subregulation 252 (1) of CAR 1988 to the extent mentioned in subsection (2).

   (2)     The exemption applies only to the requirement to comply with paragraph 5.2.1 of Civil Aviation Order 20.11 in relation to the carriage of life rafts.

4          Condition

            The exemption is subject to the condition that the aircraft must be within the lesser of 60 minutes at single engine cruising speed, or 400 nautical miles, from an adequate aerodrome as defined in Civil Aviation Order 82.0.
