Exemption — turns after take-off at Australian International Air Show

1          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 24 February 2011; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 6 March 2011.

2          Application

                 This instrument applies to the pilots in command of aircraft that are participating in the Australian International Air Show 2011 at Avalon aerodrome (the Air Show) as organised by Aviation Development Australia Limited.

3          Exemption

The pilots in command are exempt from complying with the requirements of paragraph 167 (4) (a) of CAR 1988.

4          Condition

                 The exemption is subject to the condition mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1          Condition

                 The pilot in command may only alter his or her track after take-off:

(a)   in order to ensure safe separation from any spectators at the Air Show; and

(b)   when he or she has reached a speed and height that make it safe to do so.
