Exemption — landing on moving vehicle

1          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 24 February 2011; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 6 March 2011.

2          Application

                 This exemption applies to:

(a)   Kent Pietsch, holder of FAA Air Transport Pilot Licence number 1932258, as the pilot in command of the Interstate S1A Cadet aeroplane, FAA registration number N-37361 (the aircraft); and

(b)   the participation by the pilot in command and the aircraft in the Australian International Air Show 2011 at Avalon, Victoria (the Air Show).

3          Exemption

The pilot in command of the aircraft is exempt from complying with the requirements of subregulation 92 (1) of CAR 1988.

4          Conditions

                 The exemption is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1          Conditions

          1     The exemption extends only to a manoeuvre as part of the Air Show that requires the landing of the aircraft on a moving vehicle.

          2     The vehicle must be the 2004 Chevrolet K2500HD Silverado, registration number JKK 813, modified for the landing and registered with the North Dakota Department of Transportation.

          3     The driver of the vehicle must be either Christopher R. Hamilton or Nick Wellenstein, being a person who has previously taken part in the required landing manoeuvre.
