Exemption — carriage of life rafts

1          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences on the day after it is registered; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of June 2008.

2          Application

             This instrument applies to the Boeing 737 aircraft operated by OzJet Airlines Pty Ltd, Aviation Reference Number 603350, for operations within, and from, and into, Australia.

3          Exemption

(1) The aircraft are exempt from compliance with directions under subregulation 252 (1) of CAR 1988 to the extent mentioned in subsection (2).

   (2)     The exemption applies only to the requirement to comply with paragraph 5.2.1 of Civil Aviation Order 20.11 in relation to the carriage of life rafts.

4          Condition

            The exemption is subject to the condition that the aircraft must be within the lesser of 120 minutes at normal engine cruising speed, or 400 nautical miles, from land suitable for an emergency landing.
