Exemption — recency requirement

1          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 1 August 2012; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of July 2015.

2          Application

                 This instrument applies to:

(a)   the holder of an ATC licence or flight service licence; and

(b)   the recency requirement of subregulation 65.025 (1) of CASR 1988 in relation to an endorsement at a particular time for duties in relation to the airspace to which the endorsement relates.

3          Exemption

The holder of an ATC licence or flight service licence is exempt from the recency requirement of subregulation 65.025 (1) of CASR 1998.

4          Conditions

                 The exemption is subject to the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1          Conditions

        1     The holder of an ATC licence or flight service licence must perform at least 5 hours of duties within the previous 21 days.

        2     For clause 1, time spent on the Precision Runway Monitoring Simulator located in Sydney (the PRMS) may count towards the 5 hours of duties.

        3     If Airservices Australia, Aviation Reference Number 202210 (AA), makes any changes to the PRMS, AA must seek CASA’s approval to the changes before the PRMS is used to meet the recency requirement.
