Determination – Civil Aviation Order 100.5 – non-application of fuel quantity gauge calibration requirements
1 Duration
This instrument:
(a) commences on the day after registration; and
(b) is repealed at the end of 31 October 2020.
2 Determination
(1) I determine that clause 6 of Appendix 1 to Civil Aviation Order 100.5 (General requirements in respect of maintenance of Australian aircraft) 2011 does not apply to a class A aircraft the approved system of maintenance for which incorporates a manufacturer’s MSG maintenance program.
(2) In subsection (1), manufacturer’s MSG maintenance program, for an aircraft, means the aircraft manufacturer’s program for the management of continuing airworthiness of the aircraft that:
(a) requires the carrying out of maintenance that was developed using the specification, known as “ATA MSG-2” or “ATA MSG-3”’, as the specification existed at the time the maintenance program was approved; and
(b) is approved by a national aviation authority that issued a type certificate for the aircraft.
Note 1 ATA MSG-2 and ATA MSG-3 are specifications presently published by the organisation known as Airlines for America, formerly known as the Air Transport Association of America (ATA).
Note 2 The term national aviation authority is defined in CASR by reference to a foreign country.
