CASA 60/19 — Number of Cabin Attendants(Jetstar Airways) Direction 2019
1 Name
This instrument is CASA 60/19 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Jetstar Airways) Direction 2019.
2 Duration
This instrument:
(a) commences on 1 September 2019; and
(b) is repealed at the earlier of:
(i) the commencement of the Civil Aviation Safety Amendment (Part 121) Regulations 2018; and
(ii) the end of 31 August 2021.
3 Application
This instrument applies to Jetstar Airways Pty Limited (Jetstar Airways), ARN 510654, if Jetstar Airways operates any of the following aircraft (the relevant aircraft) in charter, or regular public transport, operations:
(a) A320‑200 series aircraft that have the certified maximum passenger seating capacity of 186 passengers, and corresponding cabin configuration, mentioned in a type certificate data sheet for that series of aircraft;
(b) A321‑200 series aircraft that have the certified maximum passenger seating capacity of 230 passengers, and corresponding cabin configuration, mentioned in a type certificate data sheet for that series of aircraft.
Note In this instrument, certain terms and expressionshave the same meaning as they have in the Civil Aviation Safety Act 1988 and the regulations. These include: maximum passenger seating capacity, regular public transport operations and type certificate data sheet.
4 Directions
(1) Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3, as in force from time to time, does not apply to Jetstar Airways in respect of its operation of the relevant aircraft.
(2) Jetstar Airways must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the relevant aircraft.
(3) Jetstar Airways must give written notice to CASA at least 14 days before making any revision to any part of its operations manual that affects emergency procedures for the relevant aircraft, including in relation to exits or procedures relating to able‑bodied passengers.
