CASA 47/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (National Jet Systems) Direction 2018

1          Name

                 This instrument is CASA 47/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (National Jet Systems) Direction 2018.

2          Duration

                 This instrument:

(a)   commences on 1 August 2018; and

(b)   is repealed at the end of 31 July 2020.

3          Application

                 This instrument applies to National Jet Systems Pty Ltd, ARN 436109 (National Jet Systems), if National Jet Systems operates B717‑200 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 125 passengers (the relevant aircraft) in charter, or regular public transport, operations.

4          Directions

        (1)     Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3, as in force from time to time, does not apply to National Jet Systems in respect of its operation of the relevant aircraft.

        (2)     National Jet Systems must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the relevant aircraft.

        (3)     National Jet Systems must not, without the prior written approval of CASA, revise any part of its operations manual affecting emergency procedures for the relevant aircraft, including in relation to exits or procedures relating to able‑bodied passengers.
