Instructions — specifying minimum runway width for an aeroplane

1          Application

            This instrument applies only to operations in Australia of the prototype A380-841 type aeroplane (the aircraft) by Airbus Industrie (the operator) for airport evaluation purposes.

2          Instructions

   (1)     The minimum runway width applicable to the aircraft is 60 metres.

   (2)     However, when operating in accordance with the conditions mentioned in Schedule 1, the minimum runway width applicable to the aircraft may be reduced to 45 metres.

3          Duration

            This instrument:

(a)   commences on 11 November 2005; and

(b)   stops having effect at the end of 16 November 2005.

Schedule 1          Conditions for subsection 2 (2)

      1     Landing and take-off operations (operations) may be conducted only at the following airports:

(a)   Brisbane International Airport;

(b)   Sydney International Airport;

(c)   Melbourne International Airport.

      2     Operations may only take place at the airports on a runway that is at least 45 metres wide.

      3     Operations must comply with CASA special flight authorisation number CBR-26/2005 of 4 November 2005.

      4     During operations, the pilot in command of the aircraft must observe all operating limitations that are specified in the Temporary Permit to Fly issued by the Direction Generale de 1’Aviation Civile, dated 13 September 2005 and applicable to aircraft registered F-WWOW.
