CASA 45/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Virgin Australia International Airlines) Direction 2018
1 Name
This instrument is CASA 45/18 — Number of Cabin Attendants (Virgin Australia International Airlines) Direction 2018.
2 Duration
This instrument:
(a) commences on 1 July 2018; and
(b) is repealed at the end of 30 June 2020.
3 Application
This instrument applies to Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd (Virgin Australia International), ARN 768593, if Virgin Australia International operates B737‑800 series aircraft with a type certificate data sheet that provides for a maximum seating capacity of 189 passengers (the relevant aircraft)in charter, or regular public transport, operations.
4 Directions
(1) Subparagraph 6.1 (b) of Civil Aviation Order 20.16.3, as in force from time to time, does not apply to Virgin Australia International in respect of its operation of the relevant aircraft.
(2) Virgin Australia International must assign for duty at least 1 cabin attendant for every 50 passenger seats or part of that number fitted to the relevant aircraft.
(3) Virgin Australia International must not, without the prior written approval of CASA, revise any part of its operations manual affecting emergency procedures for the relevant aircraft, including in relation to exits or procedures relating to able‑bodied passengers.
